i want, but cannot get, due to lack of funds.

Authentic Chanel Mini Brown Quilted Bag Rare Color

The Chanel bag. I will forever more be in love with not only the quilting, but the chain and the color. I am certainly not the first person to love it either. They are a staple, and they will never ever of out of style.

This bag is $1,500, used, on eBay. It's scary to imagine the retail price, so I won't even try, because I'll get price goosebumps. I seriously need to make some money, because I simply cannot support my habits on $43, the amount in my wallet.

We went to Woodbury Commons outlet today, and there was a Chanel store. I wanted to go in so badly, but I have no money. You see, I get attached to clothing like small children get attached to puppy dogs, and therefore, going into that store would've been quite dangerous. Smarter men than I have been entranced by the wonders of Chanel.....

professor?

I have been obsessed with oxfords lately, and it was my intention to show you oxfords from different designers. However, I never made it past Anthropology. How very typical.

Slither & Saunter Oxfords

These are almost nautical to me. I want to wear them with a blue and white striped t-shirt dress and go on a boat.

Modern Toile Oxfords

Ahhh, floral oxfords. They're like a breath of fresh air in this nasty, nasty winter. I find the leather piping on them marvelous, as it makes it just makes them that much more scholarly. I think that I may have to go babysitting a bit more and then buy these. Or should I exert a bit of self restraint and actually save my money? Nah.

Chantilly Oxfords

LACE. I die. Like Rachel Zoe. The lace makes them so much more girly and lady-like, but the way that there is leather around the toe, heel, and laces edges them out a bit, too.

Weathered WingtipsTried-And-True Oxfords

Love these because they are just so classic, like I could see a college professor wearing them in the 50's. They aren't modified so they would be more trendy. I feel like they are honest, in a way. Yes, silly, of course shoes can be honest.

lord drew

This is what I wore today. I was going for an equestrian-meets-military type look. I had forgotten that I even had this dress, blazer, and shoes, so it was almost like they were new.

The dress is BCBG Max Azria, the jacket is Gap, the belt is Ralph Lauren, and the boots are J.P. Tod.

I love the dress, because it's knit, and so warm, and the collar over the jacket makes me feel rather like those Lords in the Victorian era. I do like the Victorian era, it was so overly dramatic. I love the drama.

I haven't really been able to wear these boots, because I kind-of forgot about them, and I am afraid to destroy them. The boots are nearly exactly like my real horseback riding boots. I like them better though, because they have a rounder toe and no zipper.

i fear alien abduction

I'm still sick, but I was smart today, and I stayed home.

I have been watching fashion shows from French Fashion Week, and I am enamored by these Alexander McQueen shoes. They are so incredibly unique that I feel like they almost aren't shoes, and they belong in their own sort of sub-catagory.

Alexander McQueen Spring 2010 Ready-to-WearAlexander McQueen Spring 2010 Ready-to-Wear

These are like alien animal print, that is, if aliens have prints. I wouldn't know, I haven't seen one.

The textures and buckles on these are amazing. I feel like they should be in a museum, because they are made of alien skin. I mean, in my mind, they're made of alien skin. Whether that's right or not is debatable.

The shape is something that I know I have never seen before, and the heels are so high, it looks almost like you are standing on extreme tip-toe. Not sure if they would be too comfortable, but they do look cute.

Alexander McQueen Spring 2010 Ready-to-Wear

I like how these are old -looking, like they have been left out in the rain, yet they are still bright and shiny.

Alexander McQueen Spring 2010 Ready-to-WearAlexander McQueen Spring 2010 Ready-to-Wear

ROBOTS!!! ROBOTS!!! ROBOTS!!! They are so mechanical- more machine than shoe. Maybe, in the coming years, we can program shoes to do things for us, like robots. Just a thought...

Alexander McQueen Spring 2010 Ready-to-WearAlexander McQueen Spring 2010 Ready-to-WearAlexander McQueen Spring 2010 Ready-to-Wear

I like the top one, because it is so literal. When you think of aliens, don't you think of neon blue? I do.

The middle one looks so glamourous, like the alien queen would wear it, because of the gold coloring and the jewels covering it. I bet it cost her a fortune too.

The last one reminds me of nuts and bolts, so I think of robots again. Specifically, I think of C3P0 from Star Wars. The shoes and the robot areeee the same color.

These scare me. I mean, they scare me because they are so amazing, but also, if I happened to see them while taking a stroll in Area 51, I would run. Well, more like snatch them up, then run. It is my general opinion that extra terrestrials will flock towards this shoe. I will too, but I'm not sure I'll be able to walk in them.

i have come down with a bad case of spattergroit

I went to school today, but if you asked me what happened, I wouldn't be able to tell you. You see, I spent the majority of my day blowing my now inflamed nose into a snot-rag. Fun, right?

My shoes are not too organized. I try to arrange them nicely on the closet floor, but most of them end up laying haphazardly around my floor, which is dangerous, actually. I have cut myself on a heel before. Quite unfortunate.

So my mom brought about ten shoeboxes home from the store, and I labeled them with description of the shoes that are to go inside. Now, I know where they are, and I don't have to search all over for them, only to find one in the closet and one in the washing machine. I still have maybe 30 other pairs of shoes that are still all over my floor, but it's a start.

it's wet, i'm unhappy

Today, I am actually, legitimately sick for the first time this year. There is n-o-t-h-i-n-g to do really except watch endless marathons of CSI and Law and Order while it continues to rain cats and dogs.

We're still in the winter rut, my friends, but Tibi makes me happier. :)

Tibi Spring 2010 Ready-to-Wear

I think that the print reminds me of Mexico. Why? Honestly I don't know. Mexico is warm though. The way that it is structured is also quite fascinating. Me gusta mucho.

Tibi Spring 2010 Ready-to-Wear
High waisted! How I love it. The fact that the shorts and top are a set makes me very excited. The colors are just so jovial that I want to frolic in a meadow with 100+ butterflies.

Tibi Spring 2010 Ready-to-Wear
Reminds me of a figure skater's costume. In a good way.

I just want some color please, Connecticut. Everything is brown or black or gray and wet. Is a little color too much to ask?

headgear

I am still really excited about my short hair, but, you see, I am trying to trying to find other ways to wear it. I am afraid that I will get bored of it, just as I have with countless other haircuts if I don't.

A thought popped into my head. Headbands. Yes, I know, Gossip Girl. Rahhh!!! Everyone just loooooves Gossip Girl, and so everyone loves headbands. So, I suppose that's why headbands have been so in style this season. I've never seen the show, so I feel a tad out of the loop.

But I do like the headband idea. It's preppy, which is a look that I am insanely obsessed with, but it's not so obviously preppy that it's annoying to look at. And, it would look nice with my new hair that is so short I can't put up in a ponytail.

I have a few, but I kind-of want to make my own, just to give myself something to do.

Head Scarf with Covered ElasticWide Headwrap with Covered ElasticEasy Ribbon Headband

Those LOOK simple to make, I found them on some sort of headband DIY site. It looks like you just wrap some fabric around elastic for the first two. AND! it looks like you could pull the fabric over your forehead and wear it hippy-style. I do enjoy the hippy style.

The other one looks more complicated, with more weaving and patience required. I don't know about that.

I shall be making a trip to a craft store in another town soon. Ridgefield doesn't have one. Surprise, surprise.

wowza

I know that it's almost February, but I got around to buying the January W Magazine this week. I must say, I am absolutely smitten with the "Run of Show" spread. It's a full twenty pages of blissfulness.

(Calvin Klein Collection, Chloe, Lanvin, Alberta Ferretti, Donna Karan, Chanel, Tommy Hilfiger)

The two identical chiffon Chloe dresses on the left remind me almost of ghosts, because of the flow-yness and the different lengths of the fabrics. The part of fabric that comes over the bust in my favorite, just because it adds that extra detail.

After seeing this, I really want some neutral chiffon dresses.

(Viktor and Rolf, Miu Miu, Loewe, Nina Ricci, Piazza Sempione)

The Miu Miu dresses in the middle make me happy because they are sheer, but covered in those jewels. You see, I would wear these, but there would be several comments about how it would be "inappropriate for someone of my age group." Erg, people, how they bother me.

The Miu Miu shoes are also fantastic.

(Marc Jacobs, Blumarine and Roberto Cavalli, Jean Paul Gaultier, Christopher Kane, Stella McCartney, Moschino, Anna Sui, Bottega Veneta.)

The Marc Jacobs on the far left is magical, a) because of the print, b) because of the volume, c) because of the short length with the volume. J'adore.

I also find the Jean Paul Gaultier pink jumpsuit, the Stella McCartney (high waisted trousers and oversized blazer), and Moschino (next to the Stella) gorgeous, as I love the men's wear inspired clothing.

(Fendi, Burberry, Ralph Lauren, Dior)

The two Ralph Lauren dresses, which are easily distinguishable, due to the obvious style of his clothes. The length is so unique, because really, I find that everything is always just so leggy. Not that leggy is a bad thing, it just gets old after awhile. I find these dresses interesting, because they are just as flattering, if not more than the leggy dresses. The hats also make my day.

(Roberto Cavalli, Yohji Yamamoto, Comme des Garcons, Jil Sander, Bally, Chanel)

I LOVE FLORALS!!!!!!!! Short and simple. I love oxfords almost as much. If I were to find some floral oxfords, the world would be in harmony. This is why I feel so lovingly towards both the dresses on the extreme left.

I also love both the outfits with the Hermes scarves on the girls' heads with the suits. It's so traveling/ business chic I can barely stand to look at it.

(Dolce & Gabbana, Erdem, Narciso Rodriguez, Phi, Versace and Versace Atelier, Akris, Prada)

I find myself in love with lace lately, and the Dolce & Gabbana and Erdem outfits are smashing. I love how they are see through lace, but so intricately done with floral patterns that it doesn't come off looking trashy. And God knows we would never want to look that way.

snip snip

(before)
I got a much-needed haircut today. Raaaaahhhh!!! I just feel really special and cool now. When I had my long hair, I just felt really plain and ickish. Ickish is not a good feeling, I assure you.

I think that I may change my hair quite a bit, because in 6th grade, I cut it to my ears, in 7th I got bangs... ect. I just get really bored sometimes, and when I change my hair, I feel more interesting. I don't know why, maybe it's a personality defect.

I was inspired by the girl in the January 2010 Anthropology catalog...

...but it ended up looking a bit more like Anna Wintour, which I'm perfectly fine with.

I'm just super duper excited about it. Imagine how nicely clothes are going to look now???!!!! Tres, tres, chic. I look so FRENCH!!! My life's goal, achieved. I simply cannot wait until we go skiing in Mont Tremblant, Canada this February. They speak French, you know. Perhaps with this new haircut, the French will think I am one of them! I do have a beret, see, just to keep up with the charade. The only problem is that I don't speak French. Oh, well, close enough.

I? I see my self holding a pair of thick, woolen socks.

This week is that special time of the year when we get to take midterms! Yippee! My prayers! They have been answered! And here I was, foolish enough to believe that you didn't get midterms until high school. Silly, silly girl.

This is my outfit from today, which made me feel a bit better about all of this stupid testing.

These were the same clip-on earrings that I found in my mom's jewelry box yesterday. I wore them because they made me feel a lot like Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's, because she had ones very similar. However, do to my moronic nature, I lost one earring somewhere between lunch and sixth period. I must've wandered around looking like a pirate for about an hour before someone cared to inform me that I was missing one. I mean, I wouldn't have minded looking like a pirate so much if I had done it intentionally, but by accident? Just embarrassing.

Now, I plan to make the lone earring into a clip of some sort, to prepare for my haircut tomorrow.

So, my outfit. I was just really inspired by the rebellious biker-like Ferragamo boots, and it just kind-of worked up from there. Somehow, I ended up looking like a preppy schoolgirl with some boots she borrowed from her older, less conservative, sister. Th boots are so motercycle-y, which I love in moderation. I adore the long blouse-dress thing, (FP) and I just tucked the sleeves up over the moderately form-fitting sweater (Kaufman Franco) and added tights. Simple as pie, sweetheart.

J'adore the boots. AH! I sound so French. That is my life's ambition, you know, to be French. Then, why, may you ask, am I currently taking Spanish in school? the only logical answer I can think of is, because in sixth grade, when we chose, I was a dingbat. Perhaps, if I had chosen French, I would actually enjoy learning another language.

Well, I have to go, as I'm getting more and more worked up over my haircut tomorrow. SOOO EXCITED:@

rain, rain, go away

I write to you from my car, as we are currently driving my brother to indoor soccer practice in Danbury. The roads are nasty, so my computer is bumping all over the place, which makes me a tad irritable.

The weather is B-A-D bad, all of the snow, which was bad enough is now turning to slush, because we are having some rain. The sky is a dark gray. It's enough to make a peppy pre-school teacher intolerable to be around, much less me. Ahhh, woe is me. At least the last of that dreadful snow is going away though...

On the brighter side, when I came home from school my mother let me go through her jewelry box, because she doesn't wear half the stuff that's in it. And I must say, I did have several good finds.

She has all of these turquoise necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and rings. They are marvelously summer-y and, well, happy looking. I don't know about you, but I certainly haven't seen such a happy collection of beads in awhile. I now want to pack up and go somewhere warm.

I almost want to wear them all at once, over all white, because they are all of various shapes and thicknesses, so they would just look awesome. I also think that they would all put me in such a happy place that the weather wouldn't slash couldn't affect me. They make me wish that this winter was over even more, but alas, I have a good two months left.

There were also this (fake) pearl necklace and bracelet. I just found them so interesting, because they are hugely bulbous, and it almost looks as though they would hurt you neck and wrists to wear them.

These earrings are clip-ons, but they make me feel very sophisticated, probably because of their size and the fact that they look like they are made of precious stones or something. The extreme dangley-ness is rather nice too.

My mother is being a hand model there. I'm rather fixated on that bracelet, which (I don't know if you can see) is entirely covered in buttons. It's so vintage I can't stand it.

I believe that I may have to steal all of these pieces in the dead of night, because now that my mom knows they're there, she might ACTUALLY wear them. Duhn duhnn duhn DUHHHHNNNNNNN!!!!
