oh, darling.

How I managed to go 13 years without watching Breakfast at Tiffany's, I don't know. I did watch it tonight, though. I loved it, because it was so classic. The newer movies coming out now aren't nearly as meaningful, because they don't have that clever sort of plot and interesting storyline.

I love how she said 'darling' every other sentence and how she named the cat 'Cat'. Simply smashing.

I was just so happy with the clothing in this movie. The shapes in Holly's clothes are just so wonderfully classic beautiful, and the shapes were soooo flattering on her. They were just so glamourous yet cleanly cut. I just love how the clothes are so simple, yet so perfect. The clothing in this movie are like the most elegant collection of garments ever involved together in a film. If I'm not sadly mistaken, they're all Givenche. I may be wrong though.

I love the over-the elbows gloves. They match the dress and just make it more classic. I'd like several pairs, please.

My favorite was the dress she wore in the first scene of the movie, where she has all of the pearl necklaces and beads. I now also want to try out the way that they put the jewelry in her hair, because it just has that sort-of elegant-but-not-trying-too-hard elegant. I am in absolute loooooooooooooooove with how it was pretty much always up in that bun. So elegant in every way possible.

I am also loving that hat she wore, I think, twice. It's so huge and dramatic, and the ribbon just ties it all together.

My favorite quote:

Holly: You know those days when you get the mean reds?
Paul: The mean reds, like the blues?
Holly: No, the blues are because you're getting fat and maybe it's been raining too long, you're just sad, that's all. The mean reds are horrible. Suddenly, you're afraid and you don't know what you're afraid of. Do you ever get that feeling?
Paul: Sure.
Holly: Well, when i get it the only thing that does any good is to jump into a cab and go to Tiffany's. Calms me down right away. The quiet and proud look of it, nothing bad could happen to you there. If I could find a real-life place that'd make me feel like Tiffany's, then I'd buy some furniture and give the cat a name!

I think now I am going to use "the mean reds" in everyday context now, and see if people understand me.

teeeeeeeeeeen hut!

So, I was at the barn today, so I wouldn't say I was all too fashionable. I mean, I was just in muck boots, jeans, and like forty different layers on top, because it's positively frigid outside.

When my mom picked me up, though, we went into one of the few clothing stores in town, and there were all of these military-style jackets. The Gap also had a lot of this army-type clothing too. I'm guessing that this style will be huge this spring, and I really like it.

Balmain. The leather pants are cuhhhh-raaaazyyyy cute. Imagine me walking into school with those on??? Even wearing those around town, there would be heart failure. It'd be worth it, just to see the peoples' reactions.

Intense. I am in L-O-V-E with all the brooches. The skirt is super- faboo because of the contrast between it and the jacket. OH, and don't forget the socks. I love the pop of color in the socks. And what they did to her hair? I don't even know what it is, I just know that John Galliano is a genius.

Richard Chai Love. Love the shorts. Have been literally dreaming of shorts that are so amazingly bright and enlightening.

Chloe. Just love the simplicity of it all, and the effortless-ness.

Oh. My. Good. Golly. Gosh. It's like the best sort of contrast I have ever seen in my life. It's like a super-rebellious person in the military. It's almost ironic, because the military is so strict and formal, and the skirt is so short and fun. I love the color, and how it is so matchy, but it works, and it isn't stupid or looking like she's trying too hard. Marc Jacobs is Marc Jacobs though, and I don't think we can expect anything less than perfection from him.

sick of this namby- pamby wishy washy nonsense

It's cold. Very cold. I'm sick of it. Very sick of it. I get bored of this snowy-ness once holiday break is over. As much as I love my cashmere, I want my shorts back.

I am also beginning to ponder the idea of a shorter haircut, just because I'm getting bored of it. I was thinkingggg, maybe something really drastically short, a la Tao Okamoto bowl cut. But I don't know. I doubt that it's for me, but it might look nice, because t has the bangs, which I need, because of my humongous 5-head. (Like fore-head, except bigger. Tehe.) But the last time I cut all my hair off, in 6th grade, I regretted it.

See, I've been trying to grow my hair all year, since I saw that Alexander Wang show in September where all the models has super-long hair in a said braid. I have a good three inches to go to get to that length though. Patience is not a virtue I possess.

See, she even has my bang thing going on.

I just think that I need to figure something out, because this weird medium- length hair is driving me bonkers.

make it work!

IT"S BACK!!!! HOORAH!!! PUZAH!!! Oh, dear Project Runway, how I have missed you. The long awaited return of the best show on television is BACK!!! And I've been excited all week. I asked everyone in school if they were excited as well, but apparently, no one watches it. Sad face.

I'm really glad that they are all back safely in New York this season. They don't belong in Los Angeles, as The Daily News said, in Los Angeles, "the show lost its sense of place, and so its soul." Well said. I just didn't think it made sense, New York is the fashion capitol of America, anyway.

My favorite designer on the show is Christian Siriano. He's quite fierceeeee, as he would say.

These are just myyy personal favorites from final fashion show, where he won...

These were from autumn/winter 2009

I like the head-cover thing. Clever, but if I tried to wear it to school, the teachers would make me take it off. Why? I don't know.
I cannot get over his talent. And he was, what? 20, when he won??? Craziness, I say. Craziness.

Maybe, just maybe, there will be someone as awesome this season. Maybe.

Well, I have to prepare for my Project Runway showing now, so...

slobber, slobber, slobber

I can't stand Wednesday. What I can't stand more, is how you spell it. It just took me like five minutes to figure out the correct spelling, with a dictionary, mind you. So now, my thought is lost. Great.

Okay, so what I was saying before I was rudely interrupted by the stupid English language was that Wednesday is the bane of my existence, because you're right in the middle of the week, with no escape. Saturday's almost there, but Monday's not far behind. It's like being in Limbo, when you think about it.

The best part of my day was screaming the address of the Dursley's in Social Studies. Just so you know, it's #4 Privet Drive, Little Whinging, Surrey. I feel so adventurous.

So, I wore my Chinatown glasses today, and everyone was like "Ooo, you got glasses." I was going to go along pretending that they were real glasses, but then I remembered that I would then have to wear them every day to keep up the charade, and I would eventually forget, or get sick of them. However, wearing them, I have never felt so smart! I think I understood math better because I was wearing them.

Perhaps glasses are like little brain ninjas, who invade the mind and only allow smart ideas to pass through it. Of course, that wouldn't really explain why I decided it was a good idea to attempt to rebel against the "NO SWIMMING IN THE WATER FOUNTAINS!" signs above the fountains, or why I accidentally spelled my last name wrong today.

Still, it's a theory.

Sweater, Antropologie(Sleeping on Snow, to be specific), boots, Franco Sarto, tights, found in the back of closet, glasses, Chinatown.

Anyway, this is what I wore today. I bought that sweater with all my money, and I don't regret it. IT HAS DOGS ALL OVER IT FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE!!! Of course I had to buy it. The last picture is with my dog. Funny, right. The dog with the dog sweater? No? Yes? Maybe? I, for one, thought it was clever.

I'm a sweater hoarder, and I'm not afraid to admit it. I fear this new sweater may make my condition worse. It's a dangerous habit, and I'm working on it. Hah. I enjoy being a sweater hoarder. I must have fifty sweaters, and I can't get rid of one. I love them like my children, except they are better because they don't make loud, obnoxious noises, they don't smell like baby formula, and they look cuter.

it seams to be, yes indeed

URG. Does anyone in the universe understand algebra??? I do not. I suppose that I must suffer for my little adventure yesterday when I missed school.

Anywho, several weeks ago we were at the one of a kind show at the piers, where my mom got my grandma a nice little sweater, designed by a small clothing company called Beebop and Wally.

Well, yesterday, while we were in the city, it was our mission to go to their design studio, because Patti needed a different size. She complained the entire time about how they made the sizes too small. You have to love the little Patti.

It was ...cool. Can't think of a better adjective at the present time, so cool will just have to suffice. The entire basement that they worked in was covered in clothes of their design. Quite intense, if you ask me. They showed me around a bit, actually. They showed me the patterns that they use to cut out all the fabric(which looked kinda complex), the sewing machines, and the yards... and yards... and yards.... of fabric. They had just rack after rack of their clothing lined up against the walls and strewn all over the tables and chairs.

To my nerdy little eyes, it was a bit like paradise, except, a tad cramped.

Personally, I really just like the designs. The one all the way to the bottom left is the new coat that PAT walked away with. Quite nice...

I really like the fabric. It's all soft, almost like fleece, but not really. Perhaps a fleece blend? I honestly have no clue.

I have no idea if the image is clear enough to see, but every piece has the seams showing. BRILLIANCE, I SAY! Just faboo. Clever on all levels of cleverness. I don't think I've quite seen anything like it. The way that they keep the seams consistently through all of their pieces is nice as well, because now when you see it, you will be like "That's Beebob and Wally!"

Well, at least I will.

the end to an era? i think not.

I, uh, missed school today, because I was in need of a mental health day. School is just too
stressful! Ha.

So, my mom and grandma, Patti brought me with them to New York. RAHHHH!!! I love that place. It makes Ridgefield look like a baboon's backside. Yes, that was from Harry Potter.

That's Patti.

We did a lot of things, one of which I won't mention now, as it needs an entire day to go over. But, what I want to talk about now is our visit to Chinatown. You see, my mom and grandma co-own their consignment store, and are always in need of jewelry. There is this one, really nice lady in Chinatown who always ends up giving like half the stuff for free, so we went to her again today.

That was what was on maybe half the booths in Chinatown. I know that the font is small, so you probably can't read it. It basically says that because of illegal activity, the booths have been shut down. They are, of course, talking about the illegal sales of fake designer items. But, it's not like those signs are going to stop them, they always come back. I'm betting they'll be back by next week.

I didn't know how to feel about this. I mean, they are stealing from the designers, because they would be making more money if the fakes weren't out there, so people would buy the real thing. However, you kind-of have to feel bad for the people who sell them, because that is their income.

So above are the only pictures I could take of Chinatown, because my camera's battery unfortunately died spontaneously. Twas sad.

So, the nice person we always go to in Chinatown, who won't be named, gave me these free glasses. I plan on wearing them all this week, pretending that I have a prescription, and I am having problems with my eyesight. Hahaha, I always wanted glasses!
